Smith Programs Abroad in Florence, Geneva, Hamburg or Paris Applicants from other colleges and universities who are interested in applying to one of the Smith Programs Abroad should register as participants by clicking "Non-Smith Students & Smith Faculty and Staff Register Here," and then selecting “Study Abroad Guest Students & Smith College Staff/Faculty”

International Exchange & Interdisciplinary Studies Diploma Program Applicants from other colleges and universities whose home institutions have established exchange program relationships with Smith College should register as participants by clicking "Non-Smith Students & Smith Faculty and Staff Register Here," and selecting “International Exchange Students Interested in Studying at Smith” on the second page.

After you register, log in to access the following features:

Travel Registries
All Smith College students traveling internationally on college business must log in and register their trip using the "Travel Registry" tab (also recommended for faculty and staff.) For more information, see the Short-Term International Travel Policy.

Smith Programs Abroad Applications
After logging in, click the "Search Programs" tab to locate and apply for a Smith Program Abroad in Florence, Geneva, Hamburg or Paris.

International Exchange & Interdisciplinary Studies Diploma Program Applications
After logging in, click the "Search Programs" tab. Scroll down and select the appropriate program from the list by clicking the gray "Apply For" button and selecting the term during which you wish to study at Smith College.

Studying Abroad in Spring 2026? Don't Forget These 3 Things!

Reminders for all students studying abroad in Spring 2026: 
  • All post-acceptance materials must be completed in SITES by November 3 to receive final approval from Smith to study abroad in Spring 2026. Students conditionally approved must also fulfill all conditions by this date. 
    • If you are still waiting to be accepted into your program, be sure to complete all other post-acceptance materials in SITES by the deadline. Email us at studyabroad@smith.edu if you haven't heard back from your program by the deadline, so we are aware of the delay. 
  • All students studying abroad in Spring 2026 are required to attend one of the following mandatory pre-departure orientation sessions. Please only attend the session for your program.
    • DIS Abroad - Tuesday, November 11th, from 4:30-6:30 pm, Seelye 201
    • Direct Enroll Programs - Tuesday, December 2nd, from 4:30-5:30 pm, Hillyer Graham Auditorium
    • Other Approved Programs - Wednesday, December 3rd, from 4:30-5:30 pm, Hillyer Graham Auditorium
    • Smith Programs Abroad - Thursday, December 4th, from 4:30-5:30 pm, CC 203
  • All students who plan to study abroad MUST completely vacate your fall housing assignment no later than 10am on December 20Students who plan to study abroad for spring are not permitted to register for January interterm courses and must depart campus on December 20, unless approved for winter break housing by the Associate Dean of International Students and Scholars. 
 

Housing Reminder - Spring 2026 Study Abroad

For all students studying abroad in Spring 2026:
 
Houses close for all students at 10am on December 20 for winter break. All students who plan to study abroad/away MUST completely vacate your fall assignment no later than 10am on December 20. Students who plan to study abroad for spring are not permitted to register for January interterm courses and must depart campus on December 20, unless approved for winter break housing by the Associate Dean of International Students and Scholars. Exceptions will not be granted by Residence Life. International students approved for winter break housing may be required to relocate a temporary winter break housing assignment until January 4. Housing will not be provided for students studying abroad/away after January 4.
